Finance Manager

The Finance Manager for the Lummi Island Heritage Trust supports the Executive Director, staff and external contractors and grantors in managing and maintaining the financial integrity of LIHT.

 

This part time position (24 hours per week) is based primarily on site on Lummi Island.  The Finance Manager will:

 

•   Maintain accurate financial records with a thorough understanding of non-profit financial management in compliance with GAAP, LIHT policies, and the requirements of the OMB, FASB, and the IRS.

•   Use QuickBooks online for accrual accounting, recording revenue and expenses, making journal entries, recording donations, and tracking functional expense.

•   Produce timely and GAAP compliant monthly and annual financial reports for use by the Executive Director, staff, and the Board of Directors.

•   Facilitate internal budget development in coordination with the Executive Director and support contracted annual audit and 990 preparation.

•   Perform daily accounting operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll timekeeping, banking deposits, and purchasing; confirm that revenue and expenses are correctly coded; manage deposits of monthly IRA contributions; and produce annual 1099 and W2 forms.

•   Input and manage donor data and usage using Little Green Light software for fundraising and donor recognition and acknowledgement.

•   Lead grant management and act as primary contact for vendor and grantor relations for finance and asset management and create documented grant billings.

•   Input, maintain and reconcile assets and depreciation with the asset database, including land, buildings, equipment, inventories, in-kind donations, and infrastructure.

•   Maintain annual registration with the Secretary of State, enrollment in federal and state payment systems, and adequate insurance coverages.
