Eco-Botanical Printing on Natural Textiles

Darlene Beckett, Botanical Dyer and Eco-Printer from Round House Goods, is holding two sessions of her Eco-Botanical Printing on Natural Textiles workshop as a special fundraiser for Lummi Island Heritage Trust.

Participants will bring two textile items for printing made from natural fibers. (Upcycled textiles are encouraged!) Protein fibers, such as wool and silk, give the most colorful and detailed prints. Fibers like cotton and hemp also work well. Participants will use in-the-pot alchemy to discharge plant dyes in an environmentally mindful process.

The workshops will run from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 27, and Saturday, July 29. They will be held at Darlene's studio on Lummi Island. A vegetarian lunch, with the option of grilled salmon, prepared by J & C Kitchens is included. Workshops are limited to five participants. The cost for each one-day workshop is $250. All proceeds go to the Heritage Trust. Thank you, Darlene and J & C Kitchens!
