Dr. Chelsey Geralda Armstrong: Ancient and Ongoing Forest Management

Ecological Perspectives for Coast Salish and Ts’msyen Territories

Dr. Armstrong is Assistant Professor of Indigenous Studies at Simon Fraser University. Her research involves the fascinating intersection of ecology and archeology, challenging  the  western  notion  that  wild  landscapes  are  untouched.  She studies and documents Forest Gardens and works with Indigenous communities in the Pacific Northwest to jointly raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity and sustainability.
