The Personal Preserve Program
The Personal Preserve Program educates and empowers individuals to manage their own properties for habitat preservation, personal enjoyment and a changing climate by focusing on native plants, wildlife stewardship, and water management.
The first step is to assess your property What habitat elements do you already maintain? What areas could use improvement? Unsure how or where to start? Use our Planning and Goals Worksheet to help you think about your site.
Access
Participate in three workshops that will support your goals. Throughout the year, the Heritage Trust hosts a variety of educational workshops and events to provide you with the skills and knowledge to make changes to your property.
Learn
Now the fun part! Complete and turn in your Habitat Enhancement Pledge at the Resource Center to receive your Personal Preserve sign. Start to implement changes at your site. Choose the options that work best for you.
Get Outside
Share
Proudly display your Personal Preserve sign and share your success through our Annual Report Form. Celebrate your accomplishments and connect with others.
We want to hear how you are doing. What successes have you had? What have you found challenging? Your projects could become inspiration for your neighbors. This is a great opportunity to share your experience, wisdom, and expertise.
